Emergency Communications Procedures
Notification:
When alerted by the EAS (Emergency Alert System) or EBS (Emergency Broadcast System)
via KMTI 650KHz, KMTI 91.5MHz, UT television or local cable TV broadcast, or NOAA weather
162.425MHz; or When a utility has remained out of service for more than 15 minutes.
Tune to the nearest Skyline system repeater and monitor for radio traffic. Emergency traffic
always has priority. After the initial incidence, monitor our repeater system every 3 hours at 3, 6,
9,12 AM and PM on the hour and monitor for traffic and instructions.
NET:
If someone has initiated a Net, report in as requested by Net control. Emergency traffic always
has priority. If there is no Net or traffic you may initiate an information Net. Use common Net
procedures listing operators and Pertinent traffic in order. At some point information regarding
an event or emergency may need to be relayed to public safety, utility officials, public works
officials, or 911.

The Skyline radio club operators should provide needed communications resources for local
government when requested. RACES members may be called up, and RACES protocol may be
implemented, possibly limiting non-RACES amateur radio operating.
