RACES Nets
Utah State Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) nets are held once each month under the
direction of the Utah State Office of Comprehensive Emergency Management. The purpose of the Net is
to train RACES operators; staff, operate an test State, County, and Local Government EOCs; verify and
test the capability and operation of radio equipment of RACES radio operators, link stations, EOCs, etc.
The Net is also intended to establish a method to be able to communicate to an part of the state in the
event of an Emergency or Disaster, and to develop coordination, training, and loyalty between RACES
radio operators and Government Officials.
On even numbered months, this net is conducted on linked VHF repeaters around the state on the third
Thursday at 2000 hours local time. Frequencies of Net operation are:
